BIRTH CERTIFICATE

Israeli birth certificate with a physical apostille

We collect an original paper birth certificate from the Population and Immigration Authority, apostille it at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and send it to you anywhere in the world.

What you receive

An original birth certificate printed at a Population and Immigration Authority office, the format the Ministry of Foreign Affairs accepts for a physical apostille.

The certificate can be issued in Hebrew or as a bilingual Hebrew-English certificate. If your authority needs a full English translation, we add a notarized translation.

Who can request it

  • The person named on the certificate.
  • A spouse, a child or a parent of that person.
  • Others with a legitimate interest, subject to the Authority's approval.
  • We apply on your behalf under your power of attorney.

What we need from you

  • Full name and Israeli ID number of the person named on the certificate, if known.
  • If the ID number is not known: date and place of birth and the parents' names.
  • Whether you need a regular or a bilingual certificate.
  • Your destination country and delivery address.
  • A signed power of attorney.

Why a downloaded certificate is often not enough

Israel now issues many civil certificates as digitally signed PDF files. A digitally signed certificate can only receive a digital apostille. Some foreign authorities, for example in Romania, accept only an original paper certificate with a physical apostille stamp.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs places a physical apostille only on certificates printed at a Population and Immigration Authority office or service kiosk. Someone has to collect the original in Israel and bring it to the Ministry in person. That is the service we provide.

Your power of attorney: three ways to sign

To collect documents on your behalf we need your power of attorney. Choose the route that fits you:

Online, in minutes

Israeli citizens and residents aged 18 or over with an active Israeli national digital ID (GovID) can grant us a power of attorney online through the Population and Immigration Authority. No notary and no mail.

At an Israeli embassy or consulate

Israeli citizens abroad can sign the power of attorney directly before the Israeli consul, without a notary.

Before a local notary

Anyone else signs before a notary in their country of residence. The signature then needs consular authentication. We send you the exact wording.

For the embassy and notary routes we need the original signed document, sent to our office by courier.
